Trends from the Front Lines in the words of one of our industry experts: Summer 2026 Event Takeaways

After attending several education events this year, a few consistent themes emerged from my conversations with schools, districts, partners, and other technology providers.

Leaders are becoming less focused on adopting technology for its own sake and more focused on how to manage increasingly complex digital environments responsibly. Innovation still matters, but schools also need clearer policies, stronger visibility, and greater confidence that technology is protecting students while supporting learning.

Web Filtering and Parent Controls – A Readiness checklist for District IT Teams

Indiana schools are already required to maintain an Internet use policy
and filter harmful content on school-owned devices.
By January 1, 2027, districts must also have a process that allows
parents or guardians to request stronger filtering, block specific websites
or content, and limit device use outside of school and virtual learning.

AI Can Flag the Risk. Only Humans Can Safeguard the Student.

AI is already at work inside schools in more ways than most people realise, and the most important one is rarely discussed. Our latest article explores AI-powered monitoring: the technology now embedded inside the safeguarding tools schools already use.  

It makes the case that AI and human judgement are not in competition. The opposite is true: AI extends the reach of human care rather than replacing it. Schools that understand the difference build deeper trust with students and parents alike.
